Members' Events

Each month, the Society runs viewing nights and other activities that are free for members at locations that are convenient while being suitably dark.

Stockport Observatory is the Society's primary observing facility and is located north of Adelaide, while Tooperang offers a dark sky site south of Adelaide. Both of these observing sites are open at least once a month, and members are welcome to bring their own telescopes. Stockport has a BBQ and coffee/tea facilities, which are usually fired up before sunset on scheduled members' nights (BYO food for the BBQ). This provides members with an opportunity to socialise and share stories.

The Society has a number of Regional Branches that regularly hold meetings and viewing nights in their local area. Each group has a number of assorted telescopes.

In addition to general viewing nights for members, the Society also runs other activities for members including workshops and regular meetings for its special interest groups.
