The End of Time: The Future History of the Universe

by Prof. Geraint F. Lewis, Professor of Astrophysics, Sydney Institute for Astronomy, The University of Sydney

Summary: Will there forever be stars in the sky? Is humanity’s destiny to roam the cosmos for eternity? Just what does the future hold for our Universe? Join us for a journey through space and time, from galactic collisions and hyperactive black holes, on to the death of the last star and the infinite future ahead.

Bio: Born and raised in Old South Wales and with a passion for astrophysics, Geraint Lewis spends his time unravelling the dark side of the Universe. His cosmological research focuses on gravitational lensing and galactic cannibalism to reveal the dark matter that dominates gravity, and he generates synthetic universes to explore the impact of new physics in the dark sector. As well as publishing more than 450 papers in international journals, he has co-authored three popular books on cosmology and physics.
