General Meetings and Astronomy Education
ASSA's monthly event night combines Astronomy Education and the General Meeting in one evening at The Braggs Lecture Theatre, University of Adelaide.
Astronomy Education is held first, followed by the General Meeting. Meetings are conducted in person and are live streamed when the technology cooperates. They are open and free of charge to ASSA members and the general public.

Venue and access
The Society holds in-person meetings in The Braggs Lecture Theatre at the University of Adelaide, a large modern meeting venue which also facilitates wheelchair access and live streaming of meetings.

Astronomy Education
Astronomy Education sessions are short, focused presentations aimed at beginner and intermediate level. The sessions cover a different topic each month and are also free for the general public to attend.
These sessions explain practical observing, sky knowledge, equipment, astronomy concepts and other topics useful for people building confidence in astronomy.
General Meetings
General Meetings feature a main presentation by a professional astronomer, researcher or ASSA member. Presentation topics vary and include a broad mix of content suitable for everyone, including the general public.
Please ensure you arrive and are seated well before the General Meeting commences.

COVID-19 Safety Requirements
ASSA regularly reviews and updates its COVID-19 Safety Requirements for in-person meetings and events. Changes can be made and implemented at short notice.
ASSA will advise any current COVID-19 safety requirements for specific meetings where applicable.
