The Astronomical Society of South Australia has access to observatories and observing sites across South Australia. These facilities support member observing nights, public viewing nights, special interest group projects, education, outreach, and organised dark-sky camps.
Some sites are used regularly for public stargazing, while others are primarily for ASSA members. Multi-day camps give members the opportunity to observe and image under excellent night skies over several nights.

Primary Dark Sky Observatory
ASSA's main dark-sky observing site, with large telescopes, domes, a roll-away shed, lecture facilities, sleeping accommodation and amenities for members.

Southern Metropolitan Public Viewing Site
A convenient Adelaide Hills location for public viewing and stargazing nights, where visitors can look through telescopes and learn more about the night sky.

Northern Metropolitan Public Viewing Site
A northern-suburbs public astronomy site where visitors can view the Moon, planets, star clusters and other suitable objects through ASSA members' telescopes.

Member Dark-Sky Sites
Southern Dark-Sky Member Site
A darker-sky location for ASSA member-only viewing nights, suited to observing fainter deep-sky objects and spending time under the stars with other members.

Multi-Day Camp Locations
In addition to regular observing sites, ASSA organises multi-day astronomy camps at darker regional locations. These camps give members the opportunity to spend several nights observing, imaging, learning from one another, and enjoying time under the night sky.
Mid-North Dark-Sky Camp Location
A dark-sky camp location north of Orroroo with onsite accommodation, camping options and group facilities suitable for extended observing and astro-imaging trips.

Public viewing nights are generally open to visitors and provide a relaxed way to experience astronomy through a telescope. Member-only viewing nights and camps are intended for ASSA members and may have specific access, booking or attendance requirements.
