Help Support the ASSA & Astronomy in South Australia

ASSA relies on members volunteering a little of their time, experience and enthusiasm so the Society can keep supporting astronomy in South Australia.

Members can help through elected Council positions, appointed roles, special-interest groups, event support, outreach, observing facilities, publications and practical one-off tasks. Every contribution helps spread the workload and keeps the Society active.

Current Volunteer Opportunity

Young Astronomers' Officer

The Young Astronomers' Officer helps ASSA encourage and support young people interested in astronomy and space science.

  • Coordinate ideas and activities for young astronomers.
  • Help connect younger members and families with ASSA events, resources and observing opportunities.
  • Work with Council and other volunteers to make youth participation welcoming and practical.

You do not need to be an expert
