Group/School Visits & Private Bookings

The Society can take bookings from groups for private viewing nights at our observatories. Alternatively, the Society can visit schools or groups to hold a viewing night with telescopes, or a slide shows/lectures during the day.

While our clients are generally schools and universities, we welcome bookings from other groups, such as car clubs, tourist groups and anyone else with an interest in Astronomy.

Observatory Bookings

Groups can book a viewing night at either Stockport Observatory or The Heights Observatory. To arrange bookings for observatory visits, please e-mail observatories@assa.org.au or telephone the Observatories Director on (08) 8388 5980 (after-hours).

Booked evenings at Stockport Observatory:

$7 per person (min. fee of $90)

Booked evenings at The Heights Observatory:

$5 per person (min. fee of $75)

Visits to Schools & Groups

A private evening can be arranged whereby Society members bring along telescopes to a group's venue, or present a slide show or lecture during the day time. To arrange dayime or evening visits to groups, please e-mail secretary@assa.org.au or telephone the Honorary Secretary on (08) 8821 1751.

Day vist for slide shows and/or lectures:

$75 for up to 2 hour session

Viewing night at group's venue with telescopes:

$5 per person (min. fee of $75)
