Library
The Astronomical Society of South Australia has compiled an
extensive collection of Astronomy books and magazines in its 100+
year history. In fact each year the Society funds the purchase of
new books to add to its collection.
The ASSA Library maintains a presence in both Adelaide and
Whyalla. The Adelaide library physically located in a room adjacent
to the General Meeting venue and is open from 7 to 8pm on the
nights of general meetings. Members are welcome to browse through
the books, magazines and newsletters on display and to borrow the
books. If you're a Whyalla resident and would like to find out
about your local ASSA library, the acting librarian, Chris
Thompson, can be contacted on (08) 8645 0072.
Susan Baker, the ASSA librarian, maintains lists of all the
books sorted by author, title, and the Dewey Decimal
Classification system.
