Summary: What do the atmosphere of Venus, Apollo 15, Lalande’s catalogue of stars, Nova Persei, the largest world in the main asteroid belt, the final flight of the Space Shuttle and Foucault’s pendulum have in common? All these and more are celebrating significant anniversaries in 2021. Discussing these and many more notable celestial anniversaries in Astronomy and Space exploration worth commemorating this year, Stevo Raine will take you on a journey back in time from events that some here will remember from ten, twenty and many more years ago to occurrences from centuries past that shaped Astronomy and us all.

Bio: Inspired by the 1989 Voyager-II fly-by past Neptune, Stevo Raine has been an ASSA and Supernovas Planetarium Group member since 1992. He has written for Sky & Space magazine having three items published there and also writes Science Fiction, a little of which has been published, as well as being a contestant on the ABC-TV quiz shows The Einstein Factor in 2009 and Hard Quiz in 2020 with the special subjects of Astronomical Stars and Pluto, respectively. Stevo is owned by a cat called Algieba (named after the star Gamma Leonis) and a 12 year old kelpie named (but not by him) Chokko.
