ASSA@Home: Electronically Assisted Astronomy with the ASIAIR
Electronically Assisted Astronomy with the ASIAIR | Kym Thalassoudis
Summary: The ZWO ASIAIR is widely regarded as a game changer for simplifying deep-sky imaging. In particular, it's live stack capability enables users to quickly and easily obtain high quality images without post-processing -- often referred to as Electronic Assisted Astronomy (EAA). The addition of the new Sky Atlas feature makes casual exploring of the heavens even easier. Kym will describe these capabilities and how with the addition of an ASIAIR you can convert even a small telescope from visual use only into a powerful "light pollution busting" electronic imaging telescope that can be used to explore the night sky from any urban environment. The session will include a live demonstration (weather permitting) from a Bortle 7-8 location.
Bio: Kym enjoys a life-long passion for Astronomy & Space with several interests including celestial cartography, Astronomy outreach and most recently astro-imaging. Since January 2000 Kym has published The Evening Sky Map each month to help sky watchers worldwide discover the wonders of the night sky. Kym has been a member of the ASSA for over 40 years serving in several roles, currently as President.
